In short: Trash Camera doesn’t collect, track or share any personal information. Everything you capture stays on your device.
Photos, videos and scans
All photos, videos, recognized text and scanned codes stay on your device inside the app’s private gallery. Nothing is uploaded to any server. Items leave the app only when you share them or save them to your Photo Library.
Permissions
- Camera and microphone, to take photos and record videos.
- Photo Library (add only), only when you choose to save an item to Photos.
Analytics and ads
Trash Camera contains no analytics, advertising or tracking code.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the EU/UK GDPR, Turkey’s KVKK or California’s CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export personal data we hold about you, and to object to or restrict its processing. Because we don’t use accounts, we usually hold nothing that identifies you. If you want us to delete data linked to an anonymous identifier, write to us and include the identifier shown in the app’s settings, if any.
Purchases
Purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple. We never receive your payment details. The app checks your purchases using Apple’s signed transaction data on your device.
Children
Trash Camera is not directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal data from children.
Security
Data sent to our servers is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and stored on servers we operate in the United States with access restricted to the developer. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we work to protect it.
Changes
We may update this policy as the app evolves. Changes are posted on this page with a new effective date.
Support messages
If you contact us through the support form or by email, we receive your name, email address, the app and topic, the device and app version if you give them, your message, the page you sent it from, and your browser’s user agent. The form message is delivered to our support inbox through Brevo, our email delivery provider, and used only to answer you; it is never used for marketing or shared with anyone else. To prevent abuse, the server keeps a short-lived, hashed record of the sending IP address for 15 minutes.
